Catholic Scriptures of Encouragement

The Holy Bible has existed as a source of inspiration to faithful Catholics for centuries, and its message of hope and devotion still rings true today. Millions of people around the word turn to its texts to find encouragement in their everyday lives.
The Old Testament
The Old Testament offers a number of different words of encouragement in times of need, including Psalms 46:1, which states, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Additionally, Psalms 27:1 says that, "God is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? God is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?" Also, Isaiah 40:29 says, "He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might," while Exodus 15:2 says, "God is my strength and song. He has become my salvation. This is my God, and I praise him; my father’s God, and I exalt him."
The New Testament
From the birth of Jesus Christ onwards, the New Testament offers even more words to help the faithful in their lives. For example, Romans 16:20 says, "And the God of peace quickly crushes Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ stays with you." The Gospels offer encouragement in Matthew 11:28-30, when Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I give you rest."
All those seeking inspiration and encouragement have but one source to turn to in times of trouble: the Bible. It has served this purpose for generations of faithful Catholics, a tradition that continues to this day.
